Practical help for your loved one. Peace of mind for you.

From appointments and practical coordination to ongoing follow-through, Harbwr provides trusted local support — so you’re not carrying everything on your own.

Helping older people stay independent at home

Harbwr supports older people and the families around them when day-to-day arrangements are becoming harder to keep on top of — but things are not yet at the stage of needing formal care.

Whether you live nearby or further away, Harbwr helps keep practical support organised, followed through and easier to manage.

Appointments & coordination

Organising appointments, tracking what’s needed, and making sure important follow-up is not missed.

Services & connection

Liaising with services and local organisations, while helping people stay connected to community life.

The aim is not to take over, but to help keep things organised, manageable and followed through.

Transport & planning

Arranging transport, planning journeys, and helping appointments run smoothly.

Regular check-ins

Keeping in touch, updating families where agreed, and spotting small issues early.

Practical support — not personal or medical care

Harbwr provides practical, non-medical support and coordination.

We can help with:

Appointments, transport, practical arrangements, check-ins and follow-through.

We do not provide:

Personal care, medical care, nursing support, medication administration, cleaning, home maintenance or emergency/crisis support.

Simple support, shaped around what’s needed

Harbwr starts with a conversation, agrees the right practical support, and then provides ongoing coordination, check-ins and follow-through.

1. Start with a conversation

We talk through what is becoming harder to manage and where support may help.

2. Agree the right support

We agree the practical support needed and how it will work.

3. Keep things on track

Harbwr keeps things organised, followed through and reviewed as needs change.

Making practical support accessible

One of our ambitions is to provide free Harbwr places for people who would benefit from the service but may not be able to afford it. We're working with funders and community partners to make this possible.
