Making practical support more accessible
Harbwr is provided through a monthly support model, but we recognise that not every individual or family who would benefit from practical support can realistically afford the standard service.
Harbwr is developing a Supported Access pathway to offer a limited number of fully funded places for eligible beneficiaries, where external grant funding is available.
Each Supported Access placement has a service value of £200 per month. The aim is for grant funding to cover this full cost, so eligible beneficiaries do not have to pay for the support themselves.
Current Status
Supported Access places are dependent on external funding and are not guaranteed at this stage.
Harbwr is currently registering interest from individuals, families and local organisations to help understand demand and support future funding applications.
What it would provide
Supported Access would provide the same core type of practical, non-medical support as Harbwr’s standard monthly service.
Support would be shaped around the person’s situation and may include practical coordination, appointments, transport arrangements, community connection, regular check-ins and family updates where agreed.
Harbwr does not provide personal care, medical care, nursing support, cleaning, home maintenance or emergency/crisis support.
Who it may be for
Supported Access may be suitable for individuals or families who would benefit from Harbwr’s support but cannot realistically afford the standard monthly service.
Eligibility would be considered in a fair and proportionate way, taking account of the person’s circumstances, support needs, family situation and ability to pay.
If another service is more appropriate, Harbwr can help signpost to the next step where possible.
How it would work
1. Register interest
Complete the register of interest form and select Supported Access / fully funded place.
2. We review the enquiry
Harbwr would consider the person’s circumstances, support needs, available funding and whether the service is the right fit.
How long support may last
Supported Access places are expected to be offered for an initial period of up to 6 months, with support reviewed towards the end of that period.
This helps make sure funded places are used fairly and remain focused on practical support that can make a meaningful difference.

If you think Supported Access may be suitable, you can complete the register of interest form and select Supported Access / fully funded place.
Registering interest does not guarantee a place, but it helps Harbwr understand local need and may support future funding applications.
